Moneydance 2008 was our testers favourite program. microsoft. The welcome page can be personalised and gives a clear overview of your financial position, including the balances of your accounts, a net worth figure and a calendar showing bills to pay, a summary of this months expenses and a reminders box. Navigation between pages is easy and there is a handy transaction search function. Income and expense categories are pre-entered, saving the user time. These categories can be added to, deleted and edited. The program remembers expenses and auto-allocates repeated transactions to the same expense category. There is also a handy address book. Files can be password-protected and there are two levels of encryption. Users can create save-as copies to back up data. microsoft software. Direct imports from online UK bank accounts are not currently supported, but it is possible to import data that has already been downloaded as an OFX file. Moneydance plan to expand the number of banks with which the software can communicate directly. Data can be imported from other accounting software, including Money and Quicken.
